You won’t always know exactly what you want from life.

You won’t know what you want three years from now — sometimes even three months from now.

You may not know the exact person you want to marry or what job you want to be doing when you’re old.

But you probably know what you don’t want to become.

You probably know who you don’t want to marry. You probably know exactly the person you don’t want to become.

Which is a great start for the rest of your life. Dissatisfaction is a great motivator.

It’s a good reminder of the big dreams you used to have.

It’s a good exercise to stop from time to time and take a look at who you are and where you’ve come to.

Maybe you’re becoming that person you said you never wanted to be. Maybe you’re doing things you said you would never do.

Or maybe you’re doing exactly what you’ve always wanted to do.

If you pass your test then stick with it. Keep doing what you’re doing.

Keep fighting the fight.

But if you find that you’re doing things you said you would never do, then stop and find a way to change.

You probably won’t be able to do it all overnight or in 1 or 2 easy steps — and it probably won’t be easy at all –but you can make a change at any time.

You’re not locked into your future now.

If you don’t like what you see, fix it.

Usually those changes come from three specific areas: Not being physically fit, or financially fit, or mentally fit.

One of those three is the root cause of the dissatisfaction you feel — and all of them are wonderfully fixable. It just requires you being intentional about what you do.

You didn’t become the person you dislike accidentally, and you won’t become a better version of you by accident either.

The decisions you make matter.

Even when you’re tired or frustrated or feeling out of control. Make what you decide to propel yourself a little bit closer towards who you’ve always wanted to be.

Don’t be that other guy.
