Most of your life is just a series of decisions. The rest of it is you sleeping.

Every waking moment, you have unlimited opportunities to do the things that you think are important. Everything is a choice.

You can change your mind 100 times in a row. You can get started on something and then stop and go do something else.

Everything is a decision.

You get to choose.

It’s easy to fall into the trap of believing that you “have” to do things.

That you are forced into making certain decisions.

You have to go back to that job. You have to be nice to that person. You have to spend your money in a certain way.

You don’t have to do any of it.

You can quit that job you hate. Or you can take your time and find a new job before you quit the old one. Or you could keep working that job while you build your own business idea on the side — using your available night and weekend time.

You have more options than you think you do.

At times it’s hard to see all those options. It’s hard to feel powerful. It’s difficult to take the first step towards living life on your own terms.

But at least you can.

And maybe the most important part of this entire conversation is not that you do anything radical right now.

Maybe you still go to that job you hate. Maybe you still hang around those negative friends who drive you crazy. Maybe you still overspend and overeat.

But at least you know the truth that it’s all a choice.

You’re making that choice.

It’s your decision and no one else’s.

You are aware of the power that you have. You are aware that you can change anything at any time if you choose to do that.

It doesn’t matter how broke you are. It doesn’t matter how beat down emotionally you are. It doesn’t matter what sickness or stress is tormenting you.

You get to decide what you do next. This choice. That choice.

And every choice after that.
