policeofficerJoin the Schaumburg Park District as it participates in National Night Out, “America’s Night Out Against Crime.” The event was created in 1984 by National Association of Town Watch (NATW) to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, as well as neighborhood camaraderie.

Today, National Night Out involves more than 37 million people and 15,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities, and military bases worldwide. This Tuesday, August 6 the Schaumburg neighborhood has the opportunity to take part in this event. Head over to Meineke Recreation Center, located at 220 E. Weathersfield Way, at 6:30 PM as the Schaumburg Police Department’s officers, bike and motor patrol, state representatives, and the fire department meets and greets participants.

Stick around for fun games, contests, sidewalk chalk play, along with a DJ and music. There will be open swim in the Meineke pool from 7:30 to 8:30 PM.

This event is free for all attendees. Barbecued concessions and drinks will be available at an additional cost.
