Correct Cliché: Bitter pill to swallow
This one’s almost embarrassing.
While researching “Big pill to take” as the fractured version of “Big pill to swallow”, I discovered that “Big pill to swallow” WAS the fractured cliché.
I always check before writing these posts just in case I’m a little off the mark. Apparently this time, I was more than a little off.
I have to admit that when I found out, it was a big pill to swallow.
