This week we’re interviewing Jeff Gartner, President & CEO of the Hudson Valley Swim Franchise.

Hudson Valley Swim is in business because Swim Lessons Save Lives! Their franchise business owners are dedicated to teaching students of all ages how to swim regardless of their levels or comfort in the water.

Drowning is the leading cause of accidental death for children aged 4 and under and the 2nd leading cause for children aged 12 and under. Hudson Valley Swim started more than 20 years ago to impact these alarming statistics in our own community. In 2022 they started to franchise their business so that others can expand their mission to their own communities.

A Hudson Valley Swim franchise business has a low startup cost because it utilizes a pool rental model so owners do not need to build a pool. Along with a low initial investment, a new business can be running in as little as 90 days. This concept is a “business in a box” where we have preferred vendors for digital marketing, payroll, bookkeeping, scheduling/enrollment software, insurance, etc. they even help with the hiring and training of swim instructors since business owners do not need to have a background in aquatics.

This week, Kristin Selmeczy and Karen Kimsey-Sward’s “Word on the Street” theme will be “Out with the old, in with the new! – Celebrating franchise success”.

And, Jerry Akers will be chatting about the scalability of franchising.
