What If…Your Voice Boosted Performance and the Bottom Line?

Did you know people spend two (2) hours each day worrying about what they haven’t done in their personal life?  What if your voice impacts your bottom line?

Can you imagine, sitting at your workstation, your computer screen staring at you? And you’re thinking, “OMG I left the laundry in the washer. I forgot to pick up the chicken for dinner tonight. Is Rich picking up Jordi?” Two hours later, you’ve chronicled everything you haven’t done.

One employee equates to 10 hours per week. Ten employees rounds out at 100 hours. If you do the math what happens with 20, 50 or 100 employees?

At the end of the day, whether you’re enduring an incredible number of stressful hours. Or losing valuable productivity, the result is a significant toll on the employee and employer’s bottom line. Getting the picture?

According to Gallup, Inc. Magazine, Forbes, this has been a growing trend. What if you as their leader, understood the inner linings? What if you do what you say and say what you do? Can you envision a space where your voice, your actions change or course corrects those around you?

Whether you’re a small business owner or working for someone else, ask yourself, is this familiar? Then ask yourself, as a small business owner of one or more, when I’m happy and engaged, what is the work product outcome? Ask the same question if you work for someone else. When you are engaged, do you find yourself a champion of what you do and who you do if for?

I am a firm believer people respond and ENGAGE with people who are authentic, respectful, and honest. I also believe when I’m able to engage, to inspire, to elevate, I am part of something magnificent. However, the real magic happens when my tribe, my community, my comrade-in-arms respond in kind.

Holding your voice to a higher standard is the beginning. Linking your actions to your words can be a bit more difficult. However, in my father’s oh so wise words, “do what you say, say what you do” is a life without regret. A life magnificently lived. A life filled with champions.

When you understand your voice.  Understand how your words and actions are both the standard and the vehicle to effect. You can also understand, the possibilities to impact change is phenomenal.  Can you see it lays the foundation for a standard–your standard; that can not be compromised or second guessed?
